Brazil's Supreme Court, in a landmark ruling, decided there is sufficient evidence to proceed with former President Jair Bolsonaro's trial for allegedly trying to overthrow the result of the 2022 presidential election.

A panel of Brazil’s Supreme Court justices has wrapped up a first day of proceedings to decide whether former President Jair Bolsonaro and several of his associates will stand trial on five counts including attempting to stage a coup.
