Southeast Texas is under a tornado watch through 7 p.m. Friday. But the potential for severe weather is expected to continue through early next week. Jefferson, Hardin, Jasper, Orange and Newton counties were put under a tornado watch after noon Friday, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration said.

Friday afternoon through Friday night, locally heavy rainfall is possible with one to three inches expected and up to five inches possible.
