Pennsylvania Senator John Fetterman opted for a casual look at Trump’s Inauguration, arriving to the U.S. Capitol Jan. 20 in shorts and a sweatshirt.

Fetterman and Britt’s families hang out together. There’s a group text chain among John Fetterman, his wife Gisele, Katie Britt and her husband Wesley, a former football player whom Fetterman refers to as “The Big Unit.” In text messages, he even types a “™” next to it, to make sure people know he bestowed the nickname.

Pennsylvania Sen. John Fetterman will become the chamber's first Democrat to meet with President-elect Donald Trump since the election, and plans to travel to Trump’s private resort in Florida.

“I think I agree with that,” Sunny Hostin agreed, adding that she thinks he’s “brilliant.” While she agreed with Navarro’s point about the “optics” of trekking to Florida and “kissing the ring,” she thought Fetterman’s decision was “shrewd.”

The timing and location of their meeting are unclear, including whether it would take place before Trump’s inauguration on Jan. 20. “It’s just about a conversation,” Fetterman said.

An official event such as the presidential inauguration demands the best in terms of decorum and sobriety from its attendants, with important figures donning their most elegant attires for the occasion—except for Senator John Fetterman.
