Red Cross says no closing date has been set, but a new location is being sought near Altadena. The shelter housed as many as 1,140 people at its peak period during the Eaton fire.

The one-month transition goal for the Red Cross shelter at the Pasadena Convention Center is meant to mark a move to a smaller shelter space.

Amid concern over what will happen to remaining evacuees, the organization is looking to work with each person and family to find housing, once the hub does close.
