The Bengals have signed wide receivers Ja'Marr Chase and Tee Higgins to contract extensions this offseason, but they have not signed defensive end Trey Hendrickson to a new deal and comments from executive vice president Katie Blackburn this week didn't do much to suggest that an agreement is imminent.
The only "move" referenced by reporters in the Blackburn interview was taking the team out of downtown and shifting somewhere else in the area -- while she repeatedly stressed the team wants to stay downtown.
The deadline to decide that future, however, is much closer. The Bengals hold options for two- and five-year renewals, but must give the county 12-month notice of their decision, putting the deadline at June 30.
Reece put the responsibility back on the Bengals, saying the county has been ready to hash out a new lease for over a year.
