Authorities responded to a potential active shooter situation at a military base in Pensacola, Florida, but found no signs of a shooter, officials said.

Military police and local law enforcement responded to reports of “a potential active shooter” at Naval Air Station in Pensacola, Florida, Thursday, though the threat appeared to be unfounded, the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office said.

The sheriff said a complete sweep of the buildings showed no indications of shots fired, but they are still investigating.
