College Football Playoff picks: Sooners, Aggies, Rebels and Ducks should advance to quarterfinals
Unlike last year's debut of the 12-team College Football Playoff, weather should not be a factor in any of the first-round games Friday and Saturday.
Despite that, the Buckeyes still earned the No. 2 seed in the College Football Playoff and have been given a first-round bye. Their next matchup will be against either the No. 7 Texas A&M Aggies or the No. 10 Miami Hurricanes in the Goodyear Cotton Bowl Classic.
“Ole Miss. They have that up-tempo spread. Their offense is a little different. They’re a headache to play against. Their running back (Kewan Lacy) is really good. He can take it the distance, and ( Trinidad) Chambliss is a really good college quarterback.” — SEC defensive coordinator

Since beating Tennessee in Week 8, Alabama's only victory over a team with a winning record was LSU on Nov. 8. Before we know the final two teams, let's take a look at the 12 squads that are hoping to make their way to Miami Gardens for the CFP title game this year.
