An ITV presenter and survivor of domestic abuse has been recognised in the King's Birthday Honours list. Ruth Dodsworth said being awarded the Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) was "for every single person who held my hand on that journey".

David Beckham has said he is "immensely proud" after it was confirmed he had been given a knighthood in the King’s Birthday Honours. The former England captain, who recently celebrated his 50th birthday, will receive the honour for his services to sport and charity.
